Today, Ukraine and the world celebrate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly resolution of November 1, 2005, co-sponsored by 100 states, in memory of the victims of Nazi terror during World War II.
The Holocaust is a pain, a tragedy and a grave crime against humanity that has claimed millions of lives. The Holocaust, in addition to physically killing millions of people, has destroyed the traditional way of life.
I believe that by uniting in memory of the millions of innocent victims of the Holocaust, we reaffirm our common commitment to creating a bright future for Ukraine and promoting respect for universal human rights and freedoms, which are an inalienable right of all mankind.
Regards,
President Yevhen Romanenko
