Dear colleagues!
Congratulations with Honey Savior!
On August 14, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Honey Savior or Makovia. Honey Savior is the first of three existing ones. Next are Apple and Nut.
The holiday came to us from Byzantium, where it appeared in the IX century. It is believed that the history of the holiday began in Constantinople, when a terrible epidemic raged in the city.
To stop the disease, part of the cross on which the Son of God was crucified was taken out of the Church of St. Sophia and all ponds and wells were consecrated with it. A miracle happened – the epidemic left Constantinople.
That is why the holiday of the Honey Savior is also called the Savior on the water. On this day, water is consecrated in churches, and there are processions to the ponds.
May this holiday encourage you to do noble work and good deeds.
Let us share with each other warmth and sincerity, open our hearts to kindness and peace.
Let the joy of the holiday become the property of every home.
Good health, happiness, success in business, comfort and harmony in families.
Regards,
President E.O. Romanenko
